9-Band Wave Direction Data Format: dd files
As requested by the US Army Corps of Engineers, wave direction is separated
into 9 period bands based on the estimated wave frequency spectra. Angles
reported in the directional data are true compass headings from which the
waves are traveling at the location of the measuring instrument. The data
files have 11 columns in the following format.
For 9-band products, the peak band is defined as that with the most energy.
